OLD BOISE MODEL RAILROAD CLUB IN THE NEWS
What Others Are Saying About the Old Boise Model Railroad Club
Idaho Press: Trains Chug Down the Track and into the Heart
Model trains — and those who love them — have been around since the late 1800s, "from the latter half of the steam engine era," said Ian Tompkins, 27.
Tompkins and about a dozen others are active members of the Old Boise Model Railroad Club. They meet at the club's permanent site in the basement of the Old Boise building at the corner of Sixth and Main streets in Boise from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday. But at Christmas time, they also host an open house on Saturdays, bringing in hundreds, both young and old, who just want to see the N-scale trains in action.
